Job summary

Children’s Home Association of Illinois (CHAIL) in Peoria, IL seeks a full-time Behavioral Health Counselor to deliver community-based clinical services to children and families in the Tri-County area.

The counselor provides therapy, advocacy, parent education, crisis intervention, and case management, while meeting Medicaid Rule 132/140 timelines and productivity goals. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field.
• Experience with multi-problem youth in home or agency settings.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage paperwork per Medicaid Rule 132/140 timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide community-based clinical services to children and families in Tri-County area.
• Deliver therapy, advocacy, and crisis intervention as needed.
• Maintain case documentation and billing notes per Medicaid timelines.
