Job summary

First Commerce Bank seeks a bank teller for a hands-on role in our Jackson, NJ branch. You will greet customers, process deposits and withdrawals, manage accounts, and support daily branch operations.

The position requires strong cash handling, accuracy, and a customer-oriented approach, with flexibility for regional travel and schedule changes. Candidates should have at least one year of teller or cash handling experience, proof of English proficiency, and solid math/analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year bank Teller experience preferred (cash handling experience required).
• Proficient in English, reading, writing, and grammar skills.
• Analytical and mathematics skills.
• Communication, interpersonal relations and customer service skills.
• PC skills (including knowledge of job-related software applications).
• Ability to operate various office machines (currency counter, combination lock, check encoder, fax, passbook validator).
• Ability to lift 50 pounds of coin.
• Visual and auditory skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets and serves customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Identify, develop, expand, and manage consumer and business account relationships, concentrating efforts on meeting customer needs for financial products.
• Identify customers with additional profit potential and develop action plans to expand these relationships; refer business to all partners.
• Addresses customer questions and concerns; refer to appropriate internal resources for resolution. Act with integrity, adaptability, work commitment, and maintain a positive performance in all situations.
• Actively participate in ongoing training.
• Assist with the daily operations of the branch including reporting, ATMs, coin machines and the main cash vault; assist with preparing cash for shipments.
• Develop a complete working knowledge of all bank systems required to perform teller transactions and platform duties.
• Process a variety of routine and complex transactions including account opening/closing, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and transfers.
• Travel to other locations/branches within your region; adapt to schedule changes including evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures and apply this knowledge in real situations.
• Maintain awareness of current fraud alerts; identify fraudulent activity to prevent losses.
• Maintain knowledge of new products and services.
• Participate in weekly branch meetings.
• Complete daily ATM proof, end of day closing procedures.
• Coordinate tasks with other branch personnel and bank departments for smooth information flow.
• Abide by laws and policies; promote an harassment-free workplace.
• Cooperate with and support adherence to internal policies and risk management.
