The Foundation is entering an exciting period of growth and opportunity. We are expanding our reach, deepening community partnerships, and growing philanthropic support for District 51. This position offers the opportunity to help shape that growth by building relationships, strengthening community engagement, and connecting community generosity with meaningful opportunities for students and educators.

Job Summary:

Development & Relationship Building

  • Support implementation of annual fundraising and donor cultivation strategies.
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward individual, corporate, and community prospects.
  • Build and manage meaningful relationships with donors, sponsors, businesses, and community partners.
  • Conduct donor and prospect outreach through meetings, calls, events, and personalized follow-up.
  • Support the Executive Director with donor cultivation, solicitation, presentations, and major gift opportunities.
  • Communicate the Foundation's mission, priorities, and impact in a compelling and authentic way.
  • Support annual giving, grant opportunities, and other fundraising initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect records and relationship activity in the Foundation's donor database systems.
  • Develop thoughtful donor recognition and stewardship practices.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Serve as a visible and enthusiastic ambassador for the Foundation throughout the Grand Valley.
  • Develop relationships with businesses, civic organizations, nonprofits, community leaders, educators, families, and volunteers.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the Foundation's visibility and community reach.
  • Recruit and engage Foundation ambassadors, volunteers, and community advocates.
  • Connect community partners with schools, educators, students, and Foundation initiatives.
  • Represent the Foundation at community events, meetings, District 51 activities, and business functions.

Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships

  • Identify and cultivate prospective corporate sponsors and community partners.
  • Maintain relationships with sponsors throughout the yearnot only around individual events.
  • Assist with sponsorship proposals, presentations, agreements, renewals, and fulfillment.
  • Ensure sponsors receive meaningful recognition and stewardship.
  • Look for opportunities to grow one-time sponsorships into long-term community partnerships.
  • Track sponsorship commitments, benefits, and relationship activity.
  • Coordinate planning, logistics, communications, and execution of Foundation events.
  • Develop timelines, work plans, checklists, volunteer assignments, and event materials.
  • Coordinate with vendors, venues, sponsors, donors, volunteers, District 51 representatives, and community partners.
  • Create meaningful opportunities for donor and community engagement before, during, and after events.
  • Support event marketing, registration, sponsor recognition, and communications.
  • Lead post-event stewardship, including thank-you communications and relationship follow-up.

Communications, Marketing & Storytelling

  • Manage the Foundation's social media strategy, content, and calendar.
  • Tell compelling stories that demonstrate the Foundation's impact on District 51 students and educators.
  • Maintain and update the Foundation website.
  • Develop and distribute the quarterly newsletter.
  • Create digital and print marketing materials.
  • Coordinate communications for fundraising campaigns, events, programs, and announcements.
  • Draft press releases and support local media outreach.
  • Maintain consistent Foundation branding, messaging, tone, and visual identity.
  • Use communications strategically for donor stewardship, prospect cultivation, and fundraising.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, public relations, business, education, or a related field.
  • Experience with donor cultivation, stewardship, sponsorships, or major gifts.
  • Experience with donor database systems.
  • Grant writing and/or reporting experience.
  • Social media and digital communications experience.Fundraising or community event experience.
  • Experience working with corporate sponsors or business partners.
  • Established relationships within the Grand Valley.
  • Knowledge of District 51 and/or public education.

Working Conditions:
207 days per year
