Under the supervision of the Communications Director, the Communications Specialist – Your Texas Benefits performs advanced communications work supporting client-facing communications, digital content management and content strategy for YourTexasBenefits.com, the Your Texas Benefits mobile app and related communication channels.
The Communications Specialist develops and implements content strategies that support division and agency priorities while ensuring content is accurate, accessible, user-focused and aligned with organizational goals.
The position collaborates with subject matter experts, program staff, HHS Communications, Information Technology, vendors and project teams to create, edit and maintain content for digital platforms and customer-facing communications products.
The Communications Specialist participates in communications planning efforts and provides consultation on content development, messaging, user experience and digital communications best practices.
The position works closely with team members and stakeholders across the agency to ensure content is clear, consistent and aligned with customer needs.
The Communications Specialist contributes to quality assurance efforts by reviewing communications products for accuracy, accessibility and adherence to established communications standards and best practices.
The ideal candidate thrives in an environment that emphasizes innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement. The position requires strong writing and editing skills, strategic thinking and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
