Missouri Department of Transportation in Kansas City District Office, Lee's Summit, MO, is seeking a Communications Specialist to develop department publications, website editorial content, and other information for diverse audiences. The role offers development through CAREER-LADDER with opportunities for advancement under moderate supervision.

You will prepare press releases, assist with events, support internal and external communications, and create multimedia content.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field, OR Four years of experience in communications related positions.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Ability to work with internal/external stakeholders and manage content.

Responsabilités

• Prepares new releases regarding traffic impacts, department activities, and public relations events for dissemination.
• Assists with department events, special projects and campaigns.
• Supports internal stakeholders and departments with internal/external communication, newsletter and social media content.
• Coordinates public involvement opportunities based on assigned projects; collaborates with multiple internal and external stakeholders, and develops project-specific content.
• Develops website content, social media content, brochures, handouts, newsletters, and other publicity material; designs and publishes written materials.
• Writes feature stories for department publications.
• Creates and shares multi-media content, such as video updates, photos, and graphics related to construction projects and department activities.
