The Communications Officer receives and documents calls for service throughout the organization and dispatches the appropriate officers, as well as monitors alarms, cameras and access doors.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 1 Year of communication, law enforcement/public safety or related experience such as military service
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): None.
Required Certifications/Licensure: National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certified or obtain NCIC certification within 6 months of hire;
Must have and maintain a valid South Carolina's driver license and acceptable Motor Vehicle record and background screening as outlined in the Vehicle Safety policy (Subject to annual Motor Vehicle Record review and satisfactory results).
Required Training:
Successfully complete training in Criminal Justice Information Systems Security and Awareness;
Experience with Windows Operating System (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint);
Ability to read and write English fluently and follow both written and oral directions.
