Founded in 1955, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world. NASW works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies. NASW has locations throughout the 50 United States, Washington D.C. and minor outlying territories/islands (Guam, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands).

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for developing and managing the Chapter’s communications and outreach strategies. This includes overseeing social media and website content, designing newsletters and promotional materials, managing email and voicemail communications, and supporting brand consistency across all channels. The role plays a central part in maintaining the Chapter’s visibility and engagement by coordinating promotional efforts for events, merchandise, and sponsorship opportunities, as well as managing contact lists and chapter fact sheets.

This position also leads membership engagement and retention efforts by maintaining membership data, planning recruitment campaigns, and coordinating outreach to students, new members, and those at risk of lapsing. The role includes managing networking events and affinity groups, supporting programming such as conferences and advocacy events, and liaising with schools of social work across the state. This staff member collaborates closely with the Executive Director and team, provides exceptional service to stakeholders, and ensures alignment with National NASW standards and accessibility requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum two years of relevant professional experience, ideally in communications and member engagement.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, Canva, and social media platforms; experience with Constant Contact, SurveyMonkey, and payment tools preferred.
  • Skilled in customer service and relationship building with diverse stakeholders.

This position is eligible for NASW's benefits package: Health/Dental/Vision Insurance, Paid Time Off, Paid Parental Leave, 401(k) retirement (Pre and Post Tax Options), Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, Life Insurance and more.

NASW is an E-Verify Employer.
