Public Health Solutions (PHS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit community-based organization (CBO) that has existed for 70 years to improve health equity and address health-related social needs (HRSN) for historically underserved marginalized communities. As the largest public health nonprofit serving New York City, we improve health outcomes and help communities thrive by providing services directly to vulnerable families, supporting community-based organizations through our long-standing public-private partnerships, and bridging the gap between healthcare and community services. Public Health Solutions administers WholeYouNYC, a coordinated community resource network that builds trustworthy and reliable pathways between healthcare providers, health plans and CBOs providing critical resources in the community that address the social drivers of health. WholeYouNYC brings together over 200 organizations offering programs across all five boroughs that include food, housing, employment, health insurance, and sexual health services. These services help New Yorkers live healthier lives and reduce health disparities. To date, the network has impacted thousands of lives through partnerships and referrals, generating millions in estimated healthcare savings. New York State (NYS) invested $500M statewide to support Social Care Network (SCN) lead entities integrating social care into Medicaid across the state. PHS’ WholeYouNYC was awarded the Social Care Network infrastructure grant for Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. This is a grant-funded position ending March 31, 2027.

Program Description

The Development and Communications Department at Public Health Solutions plays a pivotal role in advancing our mission to improve community health through innovative programs and strategic partnerships. This department generates resources, builds relationships, and promotes our initiatives to maximize impact. Through fundraising, marketing, and effective communications, the department ensures the sustainability and visibility of our programs. Its key functions include fundraising and resource development, grant management, donor engagement, campaign management, marketing and communications, strategic marketing, content development, brand management, public relations, community and stakeholder engagement, and partnership development. The goals are to increase funding, expand reach, strengthen relationships, and enhance communication. The department comprises experienced professionals in fundraising, marketing, communications, and public relations who work collaboratively to drive the success of Public Health Solutions’ initiatives.

Position Summary

We seek an experienced, initiative-taking, and strategic Digital and Communications Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for developing and executing the social media strategy, managing our social media presence, and engaging with our audience to enhance our brand’s reach and impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media trends, excellent communication skills, and a passion for promoting health and wellness.

Specifically, The Digital And Communications Manager Will

• Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with PHS’s organizational goals and target audience.
• Content Creation: Develop engaging, high-quality content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and others. This includes text posts, graphics, videos, and infographics.
• Community Engagement: Monitor, respond to, and engage with our online community to build strong relationships and foster a positive brand image.
• Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze social media performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies. Provide regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
• Trend Monitoring: Stay up to date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices to keep our strategy innovative and effective.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, content, and design teams, to ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all channels.
• Campaign Management: Plan and execute social media campaigns, including promotions, partnerships, and special events, to drive engagement and increase awareness of PHS’s initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a communications Manager or similar role.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills. Proficiency in social media platforms and tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout, Google Analytics).
• Ability to create compelling and visually appealing content tailored to different audiences.
• Experience with social media analytics and the ability to interpret data to drive decisions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
