Job summary

Tri County Community Action seeks a Communications Manager to coordinate internal and external messaging and lead marketing and communications for program impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field preferred.
  • In lieu of degree, 3 years of demonstrated and directly related experience required.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, including crisis/conflict management with stakeholders.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and represent the agency professionally.
  • Flexible to work occasional weekend or evening hours.
  • Clearances: State Police, Child Abuse, and FBI; driving clearances and PA license.

Responsibilities

  • Publish regular e-blasts and e-newsletters alongside print media for various audiences.

Job description

Purpose: The Communications Manager is responsible for the coordination and management of internal and external messaging, marketing, and communication to further the agency's mission.

Essential Functions:

  • Create implement and keep current an annual comprehensive and coordinated communications plan to include planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control of social media, print materials, public relations, and mass communications regarding the organization.
  • Develop effective and efficient ways to market programs and services to clients, public, stakeholders and funders/donors.
  • Publish regular e-blasts, and e-newsletters, in combination with print media, for clients, partners, staff, general public, stakeholders, and funders/donors on key topics.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with local media. When necessary, represent the organization and be able to passionately speak on behalf of the agency’s impact and other anti-poverty topics.
  • All other job-related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field preferred.
  • In lieu of degree, 3 years of demonstrated and directly related experience required.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, including crisis/conflict management skills and ability to articulate well with stakeholders.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and represent the agency in a professional manner.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekend or evening hours.
  • State Police, Child Abuse, and FBI clearances.
  • Motor Vehicle Driving clearances.
  • Valid PA Driver’s License with Insurance.
  • Reliable transportation available daily.
  • Ability to travel with 3-county service region approximately 10% per month.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • Proficiency in website management, Firespring experience a plus.
