Job summary

HDR is seeking a Communications Intern to join our employee-owned team in San Antonio, Texas. You’ll help develop content that informs and engages across channels, collaborating with engineers, designers, and marketing peers.

Ideal candidates are enrolled students with strong writing and communication skills, basic Microsoft Office proficiency, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite; two years of related coursework with a 3.0+ GPA preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop content that inspires audiences and drives engagement across communication channels.
  • Assist in driving global and local communications strategies with internal partners and teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, designers and experts to develop white papers, articles and social posts.
  • Ghost write and edit blogs, posts, papers and presentations by subject matter experts.
  • Support event management where required.
  • Contribute creative ideas to team discussions.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Communication Intern, we’ll count on you to:

  • Develop content that inspires audiences and drives engagement across various communication channels to elevate thought leadership, people and project work
  • Assist in driving global and local communications strategies by collaborating with internal business partners, creative, marketing and communications teams
  • Work with engineers, architects, designers and other subject matter experts to develop and write white papers, feature article content, thought leadership articles, and social media posts
  • Ghost write and edit blogs, social media posts, papers and/or presentations by subject matter experts
  • Support event management where required
  • Bring genuine, creative ideas to the table
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of completed coursework toward a degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
