Job summary

The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York invites a Communications intern for the spring 2027 semester to assist with exhibitions, press events, and media outreach, including developing lists, press kits, and monitoring press coverage.

Ideal candidates will have strong writing, editing, and research skills, attention to detail, and an interest in public relations and contemporary American art; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation for exhibitions and press events
• Develop lists for targeted press outreach
• Compile press images and materials for press kits
• Organize materials for press previews and track RSVPs
• Monitor media coverage of the museum and its programs
• Update press highlights and clipping quotes for reports
• Maintain press database in Raiser's Edge
• Promote public programs through calendar listings
