Job summary

Gaston College is seeking a full-time Regular Faculty member in the Arts and Sciences department to teach communications. The role requires updating instructional knowledge, serving on committees, and participating in college-wide activities. Expect engagement with students both in-class and online using Blackboard.

The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in communications (or related field with 18 graduate hours in communications); a Ph.D. is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in communications (or closely related field with 18 graduate hours in communications) from an accredited institution required.
• Ph.D. in communications from an accredited institution preferred.
• Broad training in all areas of communication preferred.

Responsibilities

• nd select and recommend appropriate instructional materials and textbooks.
• Update technical and instructional knowledge through professional development or coursework.
• Serve on College committees.
• Attend and participate in Department, Division, and College meetings and in graduation.
• Maintain currency in content areas through professional development.
• Participate in activities that enhance the College's service to students and to the community.
• Use College technology systems such as Blackboard, AVISO, accessibility software, etc. required.
