Job summary

Charlotte Center City Partners is seeking an exceptional writer, editor, and storyteller to shape the voice of an organization working daily to build a more vibrant, welcoming Center City. The Communications Director will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and shape how we communicate with stakeholders, boards, media, and the community.

You’ll craft major organizational messages, develop editorial content, support executive communications, and ensure voice consistency across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Approximately 5 to 10 years of professional experience in communications or related fields.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills across formats.
• Experience developing executive communications and organizational messaging.
• Experience creating editorial content for digital channels, websites, newsletters, or publications.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the CMO and SVP of Communications to steward CCCP's written voice across all brands and communications.
• Support and at times lead executive communications, including speeches, talking points, board materials, annual reports, award submissions, op-eds, stakeholder communications, and other major organizational writing.
• Lead development of editorial content through original writing and collaboration with freelance writers.
• Develop and manage an editorial calendar that supports organizational priorities.
• Direct email communications strategy, including newsletters for Uptown, South End, and other initiatives.
