Charlotte Center City Partners is seeking an exceptional writer, editor, and storyteller to shape the voice of an organization working daily to build a more vibrant, welcoming, and beloved Center City. The Communications Director will report to the CMO and shape messaging across stakeholders, boards, media, and the community.

You'll lead editorial content, manage an editorial calendar, and explore AI tools while maintaining judgment, originality, and authenticity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, PR, Marketing, or related field.
• Approximately 5 to 10 years of professional experience in communications or related fields.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills across multiple formats.
• Experience developing executive communications and organizational messaging.
• Experience creating editorial content for digital channels, websites, newsletters, or publications.
• Experience collaborating with media or supporting media relations is preferred.
• Experience managing freelance writers or external communications partners is a plus.
• Experience incorporating AI and other emerging technologies into communications workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Steward CCCP's written voice across brands and communications.
• Lead executive communications, speeches, board materials, and annual reports.
• Develop editorial content through writing and collaboration with freelancers.
• Manage an editorial calendar aligned with priorities and marketing.
• Direct email communications strategy for newsletters and initiatives.
• Collaborate on campaign messaging, media materials, and storytelling.
• Collaborate with Social Media Manager to adapt content across channels.
• Partner with Brand Manager on press releases and media pitches.
• Review content for consistency, tone, and brand alignment.
• Explore AI technologies to improve workflows while preserving quality.
