Program Overview

Rural Health Network SCNY's mission is to advance the health and well-being of rural people and communities. The Rural Health Network VISTA program, Rural Health Service Corps, will seek to eliminate poverty in the proposed service areas and expects to benefit program participants, community members, and host organizations. Our VISTA members will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as strategic planning, research, grant writing, training, volunteer management, and coalition building over the course of the next year.

Member Duties

As an integral member of the Development and Communications Team, the Communications & Development VISTA will build and strengthen the organization’s capacity to effectively communicate its mission and engage stakeholders across all program areas, including Community Health (health education and access), the Food and Health Network (food security), and GetThere (transportation access). The VISTA will develop and enhance systems related to communications strategy, social media management, donor engagement, email marketing, design, and website content management, with a focus on creating sustainable tools, processes, and strategies that increase community awareness, strengthen donor relationships, and support long-term organizational growth.
