Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum two years of experience in coordinator focus is required.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud applications and strong photography/graphics skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide creative and strategic support for advertising, video, photography, graphic design, and other content.
  • Contribute to social media planning, content development, and management of interactions.
  • Actively cultivate relationships within the school to facilitate news, photo, and video opportunities.
  • Collaborate across departments to support admissions and advancement initiatives.
  • Maintain the website and develop new functionality with the team.

Summary

The Albuquerque Academy Communications Department is seeking an individual for the position of Coordinator. This position is responsible for producing content that tells the Albuquerque Academy story. As a member of the communications team, the coordinator will utilize their strong verbal, written, artistic, and technical skills to promote the school. A successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to think strategically and creatively about the role of communications, including websites, social media, direct messaging, photography, video, and graphic design. They will bring new ideas to the team, effectively manage multiple priorities, exercise good judgment, and work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and parents, as well as outside partners.   • Collaborate across departments to provide support, in particular, to admission and advancement initiatives.
  • Get to know the school and understand how its promotional, relationship, and community needs can be met through creative content. Develop relationships within the school and with partners in the community to further our communications goals.
  • Be part of a team maintaining the website and developing new functionality.
  • Support the school and its mission, always maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
  • Foster and maintain a culture of mutual respect, equitable practice, and joy.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and communicate and collaborate effectively across differences.
Other Responsibilities
  • Attend employee meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Education
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is required from an accredited university.
Experience
  • Minimum two years of experience in coordinator focus is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud applications
  • Expertise in photography and photo editing skills
  • Experience with WordPress or similar web content management system
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and with a wide range of community members
  • Ability and willingness to learn and implement new technology quickly
  • Knowledge of video production a plus
  • Collection of samples required upon request
Special Requirements
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Majority of work is performed in an indoor office setting in the campus library.
  • Work hours are generally from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Some evening and weekend assignments required.
  • Year-round, full-time position
