New Music USA is seeking a Communications Associate to join a small, collaborative team in NYC with a hybrid office model. You will lead end-to-end social media, newsletters, and website updates, ensuring consistent voice and content across platforms while supporting grantees and the broader new music community.

Reports to: Director of Communications & Operations
Salary: $27.47-$30.22/hour (7-hour workday, 50,000-$55,000/year) plus a generous benefits package including full employer-sponsored health insurance and extended vacation time (see below).
Location: NYC metro area, with presence in New Music USA’s Manhattan office required 2x/week. Regular attendance at evening performances in NYC is expected.

A core member of the communications team, the Communications Associate brings New Music USA’s communications strategy to life across all digital platforms, including social media, email newsletters, and our website. Reporting to the Director of Communications & Operations, this highly impactful role ensures clarity and consistency across all New Music USA’s platforms and works across the organization to creatively share content that promotes the work of New Music USA, its grantees, and the broader new music community. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented team member who knows our field and is excited about leveraging their digital storytelling skills on a small, dynamic, and collaborative team.

We are a hybrid office, working out of our NYC office space and with presence across the country. The full staff convenes in person at least three times each year. This role’s supervisor is not based in NYC.
