Job description

The PEPS Communications and Marketing Manager is a creative strategist and storyteller who brings the organization's mission, vision, and values to life across platforms. This person drives the implementation of a communications and marketing plan that will elevate awareness of PEPS and engage diverse audiences of parents in an evolving, digital world.

We’re looking for someone with an eye for creating inclusive, emotionally resonant content and a curiosity for how today’s parents communicate – someone who is energized by innovation, excited to explore emerging platforms, and is passionate about making parent connection and support more visible, relevant, and accessible. This role is highly collaborative, supporting PEPS programs, advocacy, fundraising, and overall organizational messaging.

  • Manage, build, and publish inclusive and engaging content across various platforms, including the PEPS website and blog, while maintaining our organizational voice and brand.
  • Collaborate with program, fundraising, and advocacy teams to develop storytelling that reflects a diverse range of parent experiences and inspires action, from joining a group to donating to advocating.
  • Lead the production and distribution of community engagement and outreach materials, including printed and digital collateral.
  • Supervise the deployment of newsletters, social media posts, and blog articles completed by content creators.
  • Track and analyze content performance across channels and use insights to iterate, grow engagement, and increase sign-ups for programs. Use data-driven insights to assess the performance of new formats and channels, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with the organization’s mission.
  • Identify, pilot, and evaluate emerging and innovative opportunities in digital, print, and social media to effectively reach target audiences and build awareness.
  • Collaborate in developing an annual advocacy communications plan. Execute advocacy messaging to inform and activate the PEPS community.
  • Build and maintain an annual communications editorial and social media calendar.
  • Manage communications and messaging in support of the PEPS Annual Benefit, fundraising campaigns, sponsorships, partnerships, and community events.
  • Continuously engage in equity and accessibility learning and implement learnings in PEPS marketing and communications.
CORE Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Skilled at producing clear, compelling, and accessible writing
  • Strong understanding of content strategy, audience segmentation, and the role of storytelling in movement-building
  • Enthusiasm and aptitude for technology and social media tools, with technical proficiency in Canva and CapCut, and MS Office Suite, and the ability to leverage technology to organize, streamline, and improve processes
  • Ability to be flexible about changing priorities and manage competing deadlines
  • Capacity to work independently and as a member of multiple teams
  • Strong understanding and commitment to the PEPS mission, vision, values, programs, and impact
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of progressive marketing/communications experience for a business or nonprofit organization in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience writing and operating with an equity lens
