Job summary

Cook Children’s Medical Center is seeking a transport coordinator to act as the primary contact for patient transfer requests. You will coordinate and monitor transport by ground ambulance, helicopter, and fixed-wing aircraft in a dynamic and high-volume setting.

The role requires strong organization, customer service, and communication skills, along with proficiency in documenting data both on paper and in computer systems. Texas residency and EMS credentials are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• State certified EMT, EMT-P, or EMD with 1–2 years EMS/dispatch experience.
• BLS certification within 90 days of employment.

Location: Meacham Airport Department: Transport-Ground Shift: Varying Shifts (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40

Summary: Individual will be the primary contact for requests to transfer and transport patients. Will coordinate and monitor transport by ground ambulance, helicopter and fixed wing aircraft and accurately document all related written and computerized information in a dynamic, fast paced, high volume, high-stress environment. Individual should be highly organized and have strong customer service, communication and computer skills, and have the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.

Education:

• High School Diploma
• State certified EMT, EMT-P, or EMD certification with 1-2 years EMS and/or dispatch experience.

Certification/Licensure:

• Texas certified EMT, EMT-P, or certified EMD
• BLS (within 90 days of employment)
• Metro Communications Center Training (within 1 year of employment)
