The Communication Director is a senior-level executive position that would be attuned to the pulse of Victory Family Church and the outside culture and strategize ways to build bridges from the community to the church, helping people to take their next steps toward Christ. This person is passionate about Victory’s vision to help ALL PEOPLE realize that God loves them unconditionally, and cares about how it translates to people inside and outside of the church. The Communications Director oversees the strategy for all church-wide communications, external messages, and marketing collateral to consistently articulate and craft the story of the mission and vision of Victory Family Church. This person oversees the creation and implementation of anything people read, touch, or click.
The Basics for All Staff
- Spiritual Growth: Oversees spiritual growth of the team, both employees and volunteers, and helping others take next steps in their walk with Christ.
- VFC Culture: We “guard the culture” when we communicate, model, observe, and celebrate the vision, values, common language, and common practices of Victory with our staff and the dream team.
- Ephesians 4:12 Model: “Equip the saints for the work of ministry.” Our primary responsibility is not to do the entire ministry, but to equip - train, lead, and develop - others for ministry that builds up the body of Christ. All staff are responsible for equipping others in leadership.
Communications and Marketing
- Responsible for leading the overall communication and marketing strategies for Victory Family Church
- Includes developing, coordinating, and delivering internal and external communications to support the church and its ministries
- Oversees, develops, and maintains branding for all media including print, website, social media, graphics, email, texts, and other mediums
- Develop and manage digital marketing strategy including email marketing, text messages, SEO and SEM
- Manage the communication of internal messaging and event promotion through tactical implementation of announcements, print media, digital promotions, social media, eblast, etc.
- Ensure that the Victory Family Church brand is consistently communicated throughout our campuses, our ministries, and the content published traditionally or online.
- Responsible for leading, implementing and measuring the success of strategic marketing, communications and digital campaigns that will enhance Victory’s message
- Help manage external media relations and develop contacts with media and community leaders (e.g. paper, radio, billboards, new stations, schools, etc.)
- Manage and assess all vendor relationships and contracts with current and/or future outsourced services.
- Design, support, and oversee the teams that make up the communications team
- Help support the growth of communication, social media, and online moderating volunteer teams
- Work with key leaders to ensure that all the weekend service elements effectively communicate our brand and mission and correspond with the weekend message
- This position collaborates with the Experience Director and/or Lead Team to develop and maintain the yearly ministry and event calendar
- Responsible to oversee and manage budgets within the communication department
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Work Experience and Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a full-time communications or marketing professional
- College Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline with demonstrated success and supervisory experience
- Ability to confidently lead Victory into the future because of their knowledge in communications trends, both traditionally and digitally
- Competent writing/editing ability
- Demonstrated experience in leading team of highly skilled people and understand the organization of effective communication teams (staff and/or volunteer)
- Understanding of what it takes to communicate to both the church and the unchurched
- Ability to know and see the coming trends in Church communications
- Prior experience in writing, planning, and strategy
- Experience in leading and executing digital communications projects
- Ability to lead, create, and follow project deadlines in a fast paced environment

- On-going participation in a VFC small group, regularly attending VFC church services, and tithing to VFC
