Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, journalism, English, marketing, or related field.
• 1–3 years of writing experience or comparable.
• Strong editing and proofreading skills, including AP style.
• Ability to adapt writing for different audiences, formats, and goals.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; InDesign a plus.
• Agency or consulting experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit press releases, executive messages, web copy, social content, outreach materials, and other client deliverables.
• Help develop communication plans and campaigns grounded in client goals and audience needs.
• Research unfamiliar industries and issues, then translate complex information into clear, compelling messaging.

The Work You Can Do:

As a communication consultant, you’ll work alongside experienced consultants to contribute directly to projects that call for clear thinking and excellent execution across strategic communication, public relations, marketing, stakeholder engagement, and public outreach initiatives.

You Work May Include:

• Writing and editing press releases, executive messages, web copy, social content, outreach materials, and other client deliverables
• Helping develop communication plans and campaigns grounded in client goals and audience needs
• Researching unfamiliar industries and issues, then making complex information understandable and compelling
• Supporting meetings, engagement activities, announcements, and communication across print, digital, and in-person channels
• Managing your pieces of a project: tracking deadlines, coordinating with teammates and clients, incorporating feedback, and seeing work through to delivery
• Spotting opportunities to improve an idea, solve a problem, or make a deliverable stronger

What You'll Bring to the Team:

• A bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, journalism, English, marketing, or a related field
• One to three years of relevant experience, or comparable experience demonstrating the skills needed for this role
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, including familiarity with AP style
• The ability to adapt your writing for different audiences, formats, and goals
• Strong organization, communication, and time management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Agency or consulting experience and familiarity with Adobe InDesign are pluses
