The Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineer (CSAE) is the primary quality interface between Raytheon and the external supply base.They provide both communication of requirements and performance feedback to the supplier as well as being a conduit for Quality information back to internal functions within Raytheon. The CSAE’s role includes execution of Supplier Assessments, Supplier Engagements, Special Process Management, Contract Review/Requirement Flowdowns, and First Article Validation. They facilitate problem resolution with a strong RCCA background, meeting facilitation and continuous improvement activities using Raytheon supplier quality tools and APQP elements. In addition, the CSAE is a key player in the management of Supplier’s performance and development. They represent Raytheon professionally and supports RTX Vision, Values, Strategy and Goals in the supply base. This role supportsThis position is focused on mechanical suppliers, primarily in the northeast region, though occasional travel outside that region will be required. Travel 3 days a week to local suppliers primarily in MA, with occasional overnights to suppliers’ locations is required. Position is fully remote and does not provide relocation assistance. This position is expected to be 40 hours per week.What You Will Do:

  • Interpreting purchase order quality notes and quality requirements to ensure subcontractor/supplier understanding
  • Ensuring flow down of product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers and ensuring compliance with quality requirements
  • Assessing subcontractor/supplier quality capabilities throughout the program life cycle to achieve full program objectives
  • Identifying supplier risk and systemic performance issues ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective solutions are identified and implemented with closure plans
  • Driving continuous product / process improvements using statistical / analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and lean methodologies
  • Working with other Quality functions and Cross Business Teams (CBTs), to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills
  • Ensuring Subcontract Data Requirements List deliverables are met
  • Supports First Article Verification and Source Inspection

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Relevant experience is defined as working in Quality or Supplier Management and/or experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action processes - RCCA
  • Experience with hardware inspection techniques and technical drawing interpretation
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Six Sigma, Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)
  • Previous experience with commercial and/or aerospace / defense regulations and standards or a commercial equivalent - i.e. AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, AS9145
  • Experience utilizing one of the following aerospace or commercial equivalent Preventative tools – APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, etc.
  • MS Engineering / Technical or MBA. Mechanical-type discipline is preferred.
  • Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers / customers
  • Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test and delivery
  • Experience working remotely
  • General Statistical Process Control knowledge, including implementation
  • General knowledge of aerospace / defense products and systems technologies
  • General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)
  • Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and self-managed technical contributor

Remote: This position currently is designated as remote. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
