Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking a CAPEX Commodity Manager to lead sourcing and supplier management for major CAPEX projects across North America. You will partner with cross-functional teams to source equipment, services, and contractors while maintaining budget and schedules.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or CAPEX procurement, with proficiency in SAP. Travel up to 50% is expected.

As a CAPEX Commodity Manager, you will manage procurement activities for major equipment, manufacturing machinery, construction, engineering services, installation, commission, automation systems, infrastructure, and plant expansion projects.

What You’ll Bring

Experience and Qualifications: You have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, Operations Management or a related field. You bring 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, project management, engineering procurement, or CAPEX procurement. You are proficient with ERP systems (SAP). You can travel approximately 50% of the time.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you'll lead sourcing and supplier management for CAPEX projects, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective, compliant, and on-time solutions that support business objectives. You will drive sourcing strategies, supplier performance, risk mitigation, standardization, and cost savings from project conception through commissioning.

• Lead North America CAPEX sourcing strategies: You will support plant expansions, manufacturing improvements, modernization efforts, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Manage capital projects from planning through commissioning: You’ll partner with Engineering, Operations, and project teams to source equipment, services, and contractors while keeping projects on schedule and within budget.
• Negotiate contracts and mitigate risk: You will secure favorable commercial terms, ensure compliance, and protect the business from cost, schedule, and supplier-related issues.
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships: You’ll drive performance, resolve challenges, and develop preferred supplier partnerships across key CAPEX categories.
• Deliver measurable business value: You will provide cost savings, supplier optimization, process standardization, market intelligence, and effective procurement governance across the CAPEX portfolio.
