Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America is seeking a Commodity Manager to join its procurement team in implementing cost-effective sourcing and supplier strategies. You will audit, source, review costs, and visit suppliers while collaborating with a dynamic team to deliver value.

This hybrid role requires cross-functional collaboration and travel to supplier sites. The position focuses on developing commodity strategies, leading supplier selection, and managing negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Must be able to problem solve and handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to lead commodity strategy development autonomously basely on objective and subjective criteria

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and select sources that demonstrate market segment leadership and increase value to our organization
• Create, maintain, and execute procurement commodity strategies for the assigned categories
• Improve quality and delivery by leading supplier selection and developing improvement plans through monitoring supplier performance regularly and leading key initiatives
• Develop, distribute, and analyze RFPs/RFQs and collect proposals to support competitive sourcing decisions.
• Lead negotiations and assist with contract management.
• Eliminate supply chain risk by addressing concerns and supporting internal stakeholders in the event of imminent supply risk.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the procurement function and across the supply chain.
• Collaborate in Toyota Material Handling Group (TMHG) initiatives that promote global synergy.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proficient with MS Office applications and highly skilled in Excel
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Must be able to problem solve and handle multiple tasks effectively
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Demonstrated ability to lead commodity strategy development autonomously basely on objective and subjective criteria

What Sets You Apart:

• CSPM or APICS certification is a plus
• Results oriented and strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level

• This is an in-person role located ateither ourGreene, NYorColumbus, INoffices—ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
• Travel: up to 25-30% (domestic and international)

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary-$70,000 - $105,000per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
