Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) is hiring a Commodity Manager to audit, source, review costs, and visit suppliers. You will collaborate with a diverse team to achieve shared goals and drive strategic commodity plans across multiple sites in the US.

The role requires strong Excel skills, analytical ability, and experience leading commodity strategies. It is an in-person position at Greene, NY or Columbus, IN, with domestic/international travel up to 25-30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
• Proficient with MS Office applications and highly skilled in Excel.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Must be able to problem solve and handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to lead commodity strategy development autonomously based on objective and subjective criteria.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and select sources that demonstrate market leadership.
• Create, maintain, and execute procurement commodity strategies for assigned categories.
• Improve quality and delivery by leading supplier selection and development plans through performance monitoring.
• Develop, distribute, and analyze RFPs/RFQs and collect proposals to support sourcing decisions.
• Lead negotiations and assist with contract management.
• Eliminate supply chain risk by addressing concerns and supporting internal stakeholders during risk events.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in procurement and supply chain functions.
• Collaborate in TMHNA initiatives promoting global synergy.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Participate in cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and select sources that demonstrate market segment leadership and increase value to our organization
• Create, maintain, and execute procurement commodity strategies for the assigned categories
• Improve quality and delivery by leading supplier selection and developing improvement plans through monitoring supplier performance regularly and leading key initiatives
• Develop, distribute, and analyze RFPs/RFQs and collect proposals to support competitive sourcing decisions.
• Lead negotiations and assist with contract management.
• Eliminate supply chain risk by addressing concerns and supporting internal stakeholders in the event of imminent supply risk.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the procurement function and across the supply chain.
• Collaborate in Toyota Material Handling Group (TMHG) initiatives that promote global synergy.

What We’re Looking For:

• CSPM or APICS certification is a plus

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary-$70,000 - $105,000per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
