Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Commodity Manager in the Fisher Flow Controls organization to establish contracts and ensure reliable supply of defined commodities. You will own full responsibility for your commodity portfolio and report to the Sr. Commodity Manager.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams, drive cost optimization, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance with trade and sourcing standards while meeting engineering and quality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Four year technical or business degree with 2 years in supply chain management or 4 years relevant experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship not provided.
  • Ability to build relationships across departments and collaborate.
  • Passion for supply chain management and meeting customer needs.
  • Identify root causes and resolve issues with peer/manager support.

Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships within supply base to meet Emerson goals.
  • Meet performance metrics: safety, on-time delivery, lead time, quality.
  • Follow documented company rules including trade compliance regulations.
  • Optimize costs through strategic sourcing while meeting engineering and quality specs.
  • Negotiate price, delivery, terms and ensure contract availability/validity.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Establish relationships within supply base to ensure performance metrics are being met to Emerson’s goals
  • Performance metrics could include safety, on time delivery, lead time, and quality.
  • Work systematically and expertly in a well-documented manner in accordance with the company rules and procedures including adherence to trade compliance (export / import and supply chain security) regulations entirely.
  • Optimize costs through effective use of tools and strategic sourcing processes while meeting engineering, quality, and product management specifications and requirements.
  • Negotiate price, delivery, payment terms, stocking programs and other terms related to supply in compliance with Emerson standard terms and conditions with suppliers. Ensure contract availability and validity.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Four year technical or business degree + 2 years of experience in supply chain management OR 4 years of relevant experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position
  • Ability to optimally apply interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships through cross-departmental collaboration
  • Must have a passion for supply chain management and prioritize meeting customer needs.
  • Understand how to identify root causes of issues and resolve situation with support from peers or manager.

  • Possess strong negotiating and conflict management skills and ability to sustain networking relationships
  • Possess strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management, leadership skills, and managing priorities effectively
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) a plus
