Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Warehouse/Commodity Team Leader to sign off on product quality, plan daily allocations, and mentor a growing team. The role combines warehouse operations with ERP-driven decision making to meet customer specs and deadlines.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and at least three years of related experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and sign off on product quality to meet customer specs.
• Plan and support daily production and sales order allocations.
• Ensure rework is allocated or firm planned for production.
• Update and distribute allocations throughout the day.
• Coach and train others within the commodity team.
• Monitor inbounds 0–3 days out and maintain metrics.
• Communicate customer expectations with teams and shipping.
• Lead commodity team, set objectives, and conduct reviews.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve issues and ensure flow.
• Drive improvements using ERP, NAV, and related systems.

Job description

Shift: B2 Thursday-Saturday, every other Wed from 6pm-6am.

Primary Responsibilities

• Inspect and sign off on product quality in inventory and/or at dock to meet customers’ specifications.
• Support Commodity Supervisors plan to create daily Production and Sales Order allocations.
• Ensure any rework is allocated and/or firm planned to Production to meet customer spec.
• Ensure allocations are updated and distributed, throughout the day, and executed as expected.
• Utilize, coach, and provide training to others within the commodity team.
• Maintain a line of sight on expected inbounds 0 – 3 days out.
• Coordinate and assist in communicating customers’ expectations with the commodity team, Production, and Shipping.
• Communicate with the team issues and concerns for yesterday and today.
• Develop, lead, mentor and set objectives for the commodity team including formal performance reviews.
• Maintain regular communication with multiple departments and managers.
• Make suggestions to Commodity Supervisor for the disposal/movement of surplus commodities.
• Routinely monitor, verify, and give feedback to Production on their accuracy of product grading.
• Maintain necessary department metrics on which the performance of the team is measured.
• Utilize the ERP system and communicate technical needs for improving performance.

Education/Background Requirements

• College degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three years of related work experience required.

• Proficient in basic computer-use skills (i.e. Word, Excel) and will need to learn NAV, JDA.
• Must be a self-starter and willing to work flexible hours.

Working Conditions

• Combination of office and refrigerated warehouse environment.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
