Job summary

TOTAL Deutschland GmbH is seeking a Purchasing Specialist in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will develop a qualified supply base to support automotive sourcing, lead supplier selection, and support production quality. Candidates should have a BA in Business with a focus on Supply Chain Management and 4-6 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities

• Develop a qualified low cost supply base to support current and anticipated automotive program sourcing requirements.
• Develop rationale and provide support for supplier selection.
• Participate in or lead team in strategy development, cost savings efforts, minority business strategy, and associated reporting.
• Support Launch team through Supplier Selection, Statement of Work Negotiation, and Make vs Buy analysis.
• Support Production team when quality issues arise with components from supply base.
• Coordinate volume discount & planned productivity discounts with supply base.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education &/or Experience:

BA in Business with emphasis in Supply Chain Management, or Purchasing or equivalent; and four to six years purchasing, manufacturing, engineering related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five years of strong technical experience with Automotive business.

Mathematical Skills:

Basic college level math.

Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Software.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to assess reasonableness of the analysis performed.
