Job summary

Hutchinson is seeking a Manufacturing Cost Analyst to support cost data maintenance and cross-functional coordination within our manufacturing operations. You will work with Finance, Engineering, and Operations to ensure accurate cost reflecting current production and procurement costs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4–8 years of related experience, plus strong skills in Excel, Word, and ERP systems. Travel may be limited to internal plants or suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 4–8 years of related experience.
  • Proven ability to communicate with Finance, Engineering, Sales and other teams.
  • Strong computer skills with Excel and Word; knowledge of product routings and inventory flow in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current product cost data to accurately reflect production and purchased costs.
  • Assist Finance with annual review of standard product cost data and anticipated cost increases.
  • Prepare unit cost data for quotations reflecting current costs and major increases.
  • Assist in special projects and year-end audits; perform other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge and practice of Hutchinson’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements
  • Maintain current product cost data for all of the Company’s products to accurately reflect current production and purchased costs.
  • Assists Finance in the annual review of standard product cost data to accurately reflect current costs as well as management’s anticipated cost increases to succeeding year.
  • Prepare unit cost data necessary for product quotations which reflect current costs of production and all major anticipated cost increases.
  • Assist in special projects and costs studies as well as annual year-end audit.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with Finance, Engineering, Sales, Industrialization and other plant and office personnel. Attention must be given to detail and accuracy. Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel and Word. Must understand product routings and inventory flow in a manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; and 4-8 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Infor ERP (MAPICS) MRP software; and Microsoft Excel and Word software.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and process several abstract and concrete variables. Must be able to assess reasonableness of the analysis performed.
