Job summary

Magna Legal Services is seeking a detail-oriented Commissions Analyst to support administration, calculation, and analysis of sales commission programs across revenue teams. You will partner with Sales, Finance, and HR to ensure accurate, timely payouts aligned with plan terms.

The ideal candidate has advanced Excel skills, working SQL knowledge, and a solid understanding of incentive compensation mechanisms, with the ability to translate plan documents into repeatable calculations and explain

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, data analytics, or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in FP&A, sales operations, sales compensation, finance, analytics, or a comparable analytical role.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including complex multi-tab models using lookups, pivot tables, and conditional formulas.
• Working SQL skills to pull, reconcile, and validate data across multiple sources.
• Strong understanding of incentive compensation concepts and translating plans into accurate calculations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex calculations to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated project ownership and ability to manage a commission cycle or plan rollout.
• Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee and compensation information.
• Experience with CRM, ERP, business intelligence, or commission-management platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer CaptivateIQ including plan configuration, user access, and changes.
• Calculate, validate, and process commission payouts on each pay cycle.
• Translate plan terms into accurate and auditable calculations in CaptivateIQ and supporting models.
• Maintain CaptivateIQ plan configurations, commission models, calculation templates, docs, and version control.
• Query and reconcile data across relevant systems to validate commissionable revenue and payouts.
• Investigate commission questions and discrepancies, explaining issues clearly to sales reps and managers.
• Verify attribution changes before they reach commission statements.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Revenue Operations to implement new or revised plans.
• Support plan modeling by building scenarios in CaptivateIQ for stakeholders.
• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and self-service tools to improve visibility into commissions.
• Recommend process, data-quality improvements to strengthen accuracy and efficiency.
