Overview

ModularMission Critical is the manufacturing campus for M.C. Dean’s complex, modular product line for datacenters and critical infrastructure. Located just north of Richmond, VA, this site is growing fast serving customers worldwide.

The Electrical Commissioning Technician 1 assists in basic testing, maintenance, and installation of electrical equipment under close supervision. This entry‑level role involves supporting more experienced technicians while gaining foundational knowledge and skills necessary for progression.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in testing and maintenance of site/field equipment.
  • Support the installation, rearrangement, and removal of equipment and associated wiring.
  • Perform basic testing, moving, and adjustments of equipment.
  • Assist in field construction inspection to ensure compliance with NETA specifications and plans.
  • Maintain records and report inspection activities.
  • Understand and apply basic knowledge of mathematics, engineering measuring devices, and safety procedures (including LOTO).
  • Prep equipment for testing as directed by the commissioning lead.
  • Assist in the operation of load banks and equipment with proper PPE.
  • Participate in Operational Risk Management meetings (ORMs).
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED with two years of experience, or a combination of equivalent experience and training.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.

Physical Abilities
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet, climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected) and the ability to see in color, and hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Recognizes potential problems but does not solve them.
  • Applies general rules to specific problems to produce logical answers.
  • Combines pieces of information to derive general rules or conclusions.
  • Sees details at close range (within a few feet).
  • Listens to and understands information presented verbally.
Pay Range

USD $39.50 — USD $39.50 per year.
