Job summary

Edison Smart® is seeking an experienced Commissioning Superintendent to lead field commissioning on large-scale, mission-critical data center projects across the United States. This hands-on role requires a strong electrical and mechanical background and comfort working in fast-paced construction environments, with weekly travel.

You will manage startup, FPT and IST, coordinate teams, oversee critical MEP systems, drive field readiness, and ensure safety and NFPA/OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of commissioning, startup, or MEP field supervision experience.
• Data center commissioning experience essential.
• Strong understanding of Levels 1-5 commissioning, FPT and IST.
• Hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical critical infrastructure.
• OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field commissioning activities, including startup, FPT, and IST.
• Coordinate commissioning technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams to meet milestones safely.
• Oversee commissioning of UPS, generators, switchgear, ATS, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, and cooling infrastructure.
• Drive field readiness, manage deficiencies to closeout, and maintain commissioning documentation (e.g., Procore).
• Champion site safety, QA/QC, and NFPA 70E/OSHA compliance.

Commissioning Superintendent - Data Center Projects (USA Travel Required)

We're seeking an experienced Commissioning Superintendent to lead field commissioning activities on large-scale, mission-critical data center projects across the United States. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on commissioning professional with a strong electrical and/or mechanical background who thrives in fast-paced construction environments.

What You'll Do:

• Lead daily field commissioning activities, including startup, functional performance testing (FPT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
• Coordinate commissioning technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams to ensure testing milestones are achieved safely and on schedule.
• Oversee commissioning of critical MEP systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, ATS, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, and cooling infrastructure.
• Drive field readiness, manage deficiencies through to closeout, and maintain accurate commissioning documentation using platforms such as Procore.
• Champion site safety, QA/QC, and compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA, and project-specific procedures.

What We're Looking For:

• 8+ years of commissioning, startup, or MEP field supervision experience, including leadership of mission-critical projects.
• Previous data center commissioning experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of Levels 1-5 commissioning, Functional Performance Testing, and Integrated Systems Testing.
• Hands-on knowledge of both mechanical and electrical critical infrastructure systems.
• OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain), excellent leadership skills, and the ability to travel weekly across the U.S.
