Commissioning Project Manager - Automation

PURPOSE
The Commissioning Project Manager will lead automation commissioning activities for large mission-critical clients, assisting the project management team with financials, scheduling, procurement, system installation, quality control, client relations, and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The following duties are typical for this role and are not exclusive. Other duties may be assigned:

• Coordinate automation commissioning activities with the field technical team
• Maintain the technical project schedule
• Track constraints and report to the general contractor and owner team
• Attend commissioning meetings and represent the team
• Review technical submittals
• Develop and track RFIs
• Support factory witness and bench testing
• Develop technical Method of Procedures (MOP)
• Build and develop customer relationships for long-term revenue opportunities
• Educate clients on Baker Group capabilities, including cross-selling opportunities across business units
• Develop solutions using internal estimating software and standard products, reviewing solutions with team members before client submission

Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. Experience in automation, HVAC, electrical systems, and managing automation projects is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Mental and Physical Competencies
Strong technical background in building automation systems and industrial PLCs. Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and automation controls. Excellent communication skills.

Environmental Adaptability
Prolonged desk work, field interactions on construction sites, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
