Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Commissioning Project Manager in our Washington, DC office. You will drive energy-efficient building solutions, lead cross-discipline teams, and manage projects from concept through occupancy in a collaborative, high-impact environment.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in consulting, healthcare/tech sectors experience, ABET-accredited degree, and willingness to travel for project opportunities.

As a Commissioning Project Manager in our Washington, D.C. office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy‑efficient building solutions and create a more sustainable future for all.

Here’s Why We Need You

In this role, you will lead rewarding projects with a hands‑on approach, develop client relationships, deliver projects according to client needs and budget, lead concept development of building systems, and guide a team of engineers from project conception through occupancy. Within this position, you will also participate in project interviews, providing high‑level client service, establishing long‑term partnerships, keeping abreast of market trends, and ensuring resolution of all technical and service issues.

Expertise Of Our Most Successful Project Manager

• 10+ years in consulting environment designing building systems or leading design projects across core design disciplines.
• Proven ability to lead a multi‑disciplinary engineering team through planning, design and construction for projects of all sizes.
• BS in Engineering or Architecture from an ABET accredited program.
• Recent experience in the Healthcare, Science & Technology, Higher Education, or similar market sectors performing project management for large and/or complex projects.
• Ability to travel to client sites where project development opportunities exist (depends on assignment).
• Professional registration is a plus.
