Job summary

EPI Power, LLC (a subsidiary of The Weitz Company) is seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead data center projects from Council Hill, OK. This role directs the commissioning process, from startup through turnover, and requires willingness to relocate for future project needs.

The position involves coordinating startup plans, schedules, functional testing, and QC documentation, while mentoring a team and ensuring high-quality deliverables. A six-day work week is possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years overseeing electrical scopes in data center projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience with QA/QC for data centers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the commissioning process on the project including startup plan, schedule, and testing.
• Oversee inspection process during commissioning to meet schedule and specifications.
• Lead all activities in project closeout including manuals, model turnover, and training.
• Serve as main contact to resolve site commissioning issues with the customer.
• Manage and implement the QC program and provide certifications and documentation.
• Coordinate QC tests and ensure submittals and shop drawings are reviewed for accuracy.
• Conduct QC meetings and communicate progress with the project team.
• Monitor work activity with daily progress reports for status updates.
• Coordinate pre-installation conferences with subcontractors and follow-up inspections.
• Review submittals for accuracy and compliance with plans and specs.

EPI Power is hiring a Commissioning Manager to join our growing team in Council Hill, OK! The Commissioning Manager is responsible for providing direction and leadership on data center projects. The role includes managing the commissioning process from level 1 through level 5, leading the turnover of a fully commissioned data center to our customer. The ideal candidate is open to relocating for future project needs.

This role requires the ability to work 6 days per week, Monday – Saturday.

What You’ll Do

• Direct and manage the commissioning process on the project inclusive of the startup plan, commissioning schedule, and functional testing
• Oversee the inspection process during commissioning to ensure work is delivered in a timely manner, meeting all customer expectations and specifications
• Direct and handle the commissioning process on the project inclusive of the startup plan, commissioning schedule, and functional testing
• Lead all activities required in the project closeout inclusive of operations and maintenance manuals, model turn over, and training
• Function as the main point of contact and resolve site commissioning issues and concerns that the customer may have
• Manage and implement the QC Program
• Ensure testing is performed and provide QC certifications and documentation required
• Manage and coordinate the three phases of control and documentation performed by inspection and testing personnel
• Conduct QC meetings with project team
• Implement methods for monitoring work activities such as three phases of control and daily progress reports to accurately inform project manager and/or project superintendent of current status of work activity
• Coordinate and participate in pre-installation conferences with subcontractors
• Coordinate follow-up inspections
• Document all quality inspections and pre-installation meetings
• Manage and coordinate QC Technicians and any other inspection and testing personnel
• Review submittals for accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications
• Ensure that shop drawing and submittal review and approval process is effective and efficient
• Communicate with appropriate parties to collect quality information for improvement and/or quality concerns

What We’re Looking For

Experience

• 6+ years of experience overseeing electrical scopes preferably with a mechanical or electrical contractor
• Experience with data center QA/QC
• An industry related bachelor’s degree is required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
