Qualifications

Salary Range: $95,000 - $130,000 annually (DOE), FLSA exempt.

System Readiness & Quality Management
  • Verify mechanical systems are installation complete and ready for startup activities.
  • Lead system walkdowns and readiness reviews.
  • Coordinate deficiency tracking and resolution efforts.
  • Manage punch lists through completion and closure.
  • Ensure systems meet design intent, contract requirements, and quality standards.
Documentation & Turnover
  • Develop and maintain commissioning plans, schedules, logs, and reporting tools.
  • Coordinate collection and review of startup reports, test documentation, and turnover records.
  • Manage O&M manuals, training documentation, certifications, and warranty information.
  • Ensure accurate and complete turnover packages are provided to clients.
Schedule & Project Controls
  • Integrate commissioning activities into project schedules.
  • Identify commissioning risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Track commissioning progress against project milestones.
  • Communicate critical path impacts and recovery plans to project leadership.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Act as primary point of contact for commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate owner witness testing and acceptance events.
  • Facilitate meetings involving contractors, vendors, engineers, and operations teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
Safety Leadership
  • Ensure all commissioning and startup activities are conducted safely.
  • Promote compliance with company safety policies and site-specific requirements.
  • Participate in hazard assessments and startup planning reviews.
  • Lead by example through visible safety engagement and accountability.
Team Development
  • Mentor Project Engineers and field teams in commissioning processes.
  • Support development of standardized turnover and startup procedures.
  • Promote continuous improvement of commissioning practices across the Boise Operations Group.

What You Bring

  • Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, startup, commissioning, QA/QC, project engineering, or operations.Experience with mechanical systems, process piping, HVAC, plumbing, utilities, or industrial process systems.Semiconductor, data center, advanced manufacturing, or industrial project experience preferred.Experience leading system turnover, startup, commissioning, or punch list completion activities strongly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of commissioning, startup, testing, and turnover processes.Knowledge of QA/QC programs and deficiency management.Excellent organizational and documentation skills.Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and project management software.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Self-starter with a high level of accountability and ownership.

Physical Requirements
This role requires transitioning between office and construction field settings. In the office, you’ll sit for extended periods at a computer, performing repetitive tasks like typing and communicating by telephone. In the field, you’ll stand and walk for extended periods on various surfaces, including uneven terrain, climb stairs, kneel, crouch, and crawl to inspect tight spaces, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Good vision and hearing are essential for reading plans, inspecting work, and communicating on‑site. You’ll work outdoors in various weather conditions, adhere to site‑specific dress codes, and wear PPE (hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, steel‑toed boots).
