Job summary

MOHR Talent is seeking a Commissioning Engineer / Project Manager to support high-performance building projects in San Francisco. You will lead commissioning from design review through testing, closeout, and post-occupancy support, collaborating with clients, contractors, engineers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commissioning, MEP consulting, design engineering, controls, or MEP/Cx project management experience.
  • Strong experience with full-cycle commissioning.
  • BAS / building automation experience is very important.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, controls, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and energy-related systems.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Facility Grid preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, but strong hands-on experience may be considered.
  • Commissioning certification is a plus, but they are open to someone willing to pursue it after starting.
  • Strong communication, planning, client-facing, and documentation skills.
  • Comfortable working on active construction sites.

  • Write commissioning plans, test scripts, reports, issue logs, and project documentation.
  • Perform site observations and functional performance testing on active construction sites.
  • Support projects tied to Title 24, California Energy Code, ASHRAE, LEED, and energy performance standards.

We’re partnering with a small, family-oriented engineering and design firm that is looking for a strong Commissioning Engineer / Project Manager to support high-performance building projects across education, healthcare, lab, housing, office, and research environments.

This is a great fit for someone who has handled commissioning work from start to finish and enjoys a mix of hands-on field work, project leadership, BAS/controls coordination, client interaction, and technical documentation.
