Job summary

Thor is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning, testing and handover of critical mechanical, electrical and controls systems for a major data center project in Houston, TX on an initial 12-month contract. You will work with contractors, vendors and the project team to develop procedures, witness testing (IST, FAT/SAT), manage punch lists and support final system handover.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' commissioning experience, ideally within data centers or other mission-critical environments.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and commissioning processes.
• Experience with large-scale construction projects.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and commissioning documentation.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Houston, TX for the duration of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Support FAT, SAT, pre-functional and functional performance testing.


• Assist with Integrated Systems Testing (IST).


• Identify and resolve commissioning issues and deficiencies.

Experience Required

• 3+ years' commissioning experience, ideally within data centers or other mission-critical environments.

• Ability to work on-site in Northern Virginia for the duration of the project.

Systems Experience

Experience with UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers, MV/LV distribution, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, HVAC, BMS and controls would be highly beneficial.

Previous experience with IST, FAT/SAT, start-up and energization is also desirable.
