Sustainable Comfort, Inc. (SCI) is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our growing team.

You’ll help improve the performance of multifamily and commercial buildings across the Northeast by ensuring mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control systems operate as intended. You will collaborate with developers, architects, contractors, and owners on projects that advance energy efficiency and high-performance building design, performing functional testing, troubleshooting HVAC systems, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with HVAC design and building systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities on multifamily and institutional building projects.
• Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and verification of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, control, and other building systems.
• Review construction documents, submittals, and system designs to verify project requirements.
• Develop commissioning plans, test procedures, reports, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, owners, and project teams throughout design, construction, and occupancy.
• Identify, document, and help resolve system deficiencies.
• Support measurement and verification (M&V) projects through data collection planning, field coordination, analysis, and reporting.
• Review technical work for quality, accuracy, and consistency.
• Assist with proposal development and technical responses for new projects.
• Stay current with emerging building technologies, energy codes, commissioning standards, and industry best practices.
