Job description

Position: Commissioning Controls Analyst

Location: Carrollton, TX (Southland Industries).<\/p>

Overview: Validation of the installation, operation and performance of a building's HVAC Building Automation System (BAS) in association with the construction team. Provide proposal and scope reviews, as well as submittal and sequence reviews, in accordance with engineered contract documents. Support startup planning, controls activities, and verification of controls contractor progress. Assist in technical RFI development and recommendations with project and engineering teams. Provide support for functional performance testing of equipment and systems, and for connecting analytics hardware, software and programming to the BAS.

What You’ll Do
  • Understand customer expectations and Brandt’s scope of service.
  • Review proposals from controls sub-contractors for scope, compatibility, and completeness; provide feedback to project management.
  • Review and coordinate sequence of operation of engineered contract documents and controls subcontractor submittals.
  • Assist and support project management in coordinating controls contractor with project schedule, deficiencies, planning and implementation of all controls related work.
  • Install, wire, remove, maintain and repair HVAC Building Automation Systems and related equipment as required.
  • Troubleshoot control problems and perform repairs as needed.
  • Provide Functional Performance Testing for validation of sequences of operations.
  • Coordinate with third party commission agent for controls related testing and functional performance testing.
  • Produce trends and analyze data for system issues and provide recommendations for corrections or improvements.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist pre-construction team with customer scope development and technical analysis/support for retrofits, upgrades and enhancements to existing equipment.
  • Work within Brandt’s safety rules and regulations; perform additional assignments as needed.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
  • Valid Texas Driver License and clean driving record.
  • Ability to read blueprints, layout plans and controls wiring diagrams.
  • Proficient at inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing building automation systems controllers to end devices (e.g., dampers, actuators, sensors, transmitters, VFDs, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems and Sequences of Operations.
  • Ability to manage time and complete delegated work within specified timeframes.
  • Ability to read and interpret job specifications and regulations; effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical tests.
  • Availability to be on stand-by or work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What You Bring To The Table
  • 2 Year Associate degree and/or successful completion of appropriate trade/technical training program.
  • OSHA-10 certification (must be obtained within six months from date of hire if not currently certified).
