Commissary Shift Manager

Summary:

The Commissary Shift Manager supports the Commissary Manager or Commissary Chef in routine operations, supervising non-management associates, assigning work, coaching and developing staff, and performing other responsibilities as directed by management. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Commissary Manager or Chef, depending on local requirements.

Essential Functions:

  1. Supervises daily activities of non-management associates
  2. Assigns work responsibilities and ensures shift coverage
  3. Conducts on-the-job training and ensures basic skills training for associates
  4. Resolves routine questions and problems, referring complex issues to higher levels
  5. Provides recommendations for hiring, firing, and other employment status changes

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

  1. Requires up to 2 years of experience in low volume or multi-unit Food and Beverage operations or related management experience
  2. Demonstrates team management, delegation, and issue resolution skills, with the ability to multi-task
  3. Knowledge of HMSHost policies, products, services, quality, equipment, and operations standards
  4. Ability to speak, read, and understand instructions, policies, and communicate effectively with individuals
