Job summary

Laughing Planet Cafe LLC in Portland, OR is hiring a part-time Commissary Baker for the Portland Commissary location. Schedule is Sun-Mon 12-8pm and Fri 12-8pm. Prior kitchen prep and baking experience is required; Spanish language ability is a plus.

You will read and follow recipes, portion ingredients, and operate gas ranges and ovens safely. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment while working in a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year kitchen prep and baking experience.
• Knowledge of baking fundamentals.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Laughing Planet is a locally owned and operated quick-service restaurant company with 10 locations in Oregon. We offer fresh, quality, nutritious food that is affordable and strive to provide a great experience for our guests and employees. We are currently hiring for a part- time Commissary Baker, at our Portland Commissary location. Schedule is Sun-Mon 12-8pm and Friday 12-8pm.

The ideal candidate:

• Be positive and team driven
• Has a minimum of 1 year kitchen prep and baking experience
• Has knowledge of baking fundamentals
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required)
• Can ensure the proper preparation and cooking of high quality ingredients in large batch quantities
• Has a sense of urgency
• Will read and follow recipes
• Knows how to portion ingredients
• Can display the ability to operate equipment such as gas ranges, and ovens safely
• Has the ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical maneuvers such as kneeling, squatting and using step stools
• Will communicate clearly with team members and management
• Maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen environment
