Job summary

FAENA Miami Beach is seeking an experienced sommelier to drive wine sales and elevate wine service in our luxury hotel. You will engage guests, curate wine pairings, manage wine lists, and collaborate with the beverage team to deliver memorable experiences.

The role requires knowledge of global wines, polished communication, and a passion for hospitality. You will uphold Faena standards and ensure superior guest satisfaction across dining venues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Follow all Faena wine service standards and sequences of service are being followed and adhered to by the staff while on duty.
• Keeps inventory and lets Sommelier know which wines need to be ordered to replenish stock.
• Stores wines on racks or shelves in wine cellar.
• Maintains wine list and recommends bottle or individual glass prices.
• Discusses wines with patrons and assists patrons to make wine selection.
• Opens wine bottle, tastes wine or offers taste to patron prior to serving, and serves wines to patrons.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and driving while under the influence.
• Helps to inform restaurant and beverage staff of what items are temporarily out of stock.
• Review reserved tables and names of such; follow up on special arrangements for pre-assigned tables
• Review daily specials.
