Job summary

FAENA is seeking a guest-focused Food & Beverage Attendant to deliver orders in guest lounges at our Miami Beach property, following hotel specifications and providing courteous, efficient service.

Duties include maintaining knowledge of policies, equipment, and liquor regulations; assisting in Pool & Beach service areas; restocking, clearing courses, and staying visible to respond to guest inquiries and preferences.

Qualifications

• Maintain knowledge of departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
• Maintain knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Be familiar with hotel services/features and local attractions to respond to guest inquiries.
• Maintain knowledge of lounge, cabana numbers, liquor brands, menu items and presentation standards, and liquor regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food and beverage orders to guest lounges according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently.
• Assist in the maintenance and re-stocking of Pool & Beach food and beverage areas (service huts, breakdown stations and kitchen runner’s station).
• Complete opening and closing side duties as assigned.
• Retrieve all alcoholic beverage items from bar and serve to guest; open and serve wine/champagne bottles.
• Make all varieties of coffee and serve all courses and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Guide the activities of the Bus person to ensure optimum service; clear courses and reset tables after guest departure.
• Extend appreciation for guest patronage and invite them to return.

JOB OVERVIEW

Deliver food and beverage orders, retrieve and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and food orders to guest lounges according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently. Also assists in the maintenance and re-stocking of Pool & Beach food and beverage areas (service huts, breakdown stations and kitchen runner’s station).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Maintain complete knowledge of:
  • Lounge & Cabana numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the Pool & Beach.
  • All liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes in the Pool & Beach.
  • The particular characteristics and description of every food and beverage item on the Pool & Beach menu.
  • All menu items, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients and quality standards, taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, garnish and method of presentation.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and driving while under the influence.
• Complete opening and closing side duties as assigned.
• Retrieve all alcoholic beverage items from bar and serve to guest.
• Open and serve wine/champagne bottles.
• Make all varieties of coffee.
• Serve all food courses and non-alcoholic beverage items to the guest.
• Guide the activities of the assigned Bus person to ensure optimum service to guests.
• Clear each course.
• Remove soiled wares from areas as assigned and transport to stewarding area.
• Extend appreciation for guest patronage and invite them to return.
• Clean and reset tables immediately after guest departs.
