Job Overview
This position reports to the Business Services Operations Administrator and serves as the Commercial Portfolio Manager / Underwriter. The role independently reviews loan underwriting for real‑estate secured and non‑real‑estate secured loans, prepares underwriting summaries, and assists commercial lenders with loan presentations and financial analysis.

Compensation: Salary, commensurate with experience
Hours: Monday through Friday, occasional Saturdays
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
- Thorough knowledge of credit products, commercial lending policy, applicable laws and regulations, and credit quality standards
- Minimum 5+ years of credit analysis and/or loan review experience, preferably in banking, with 8 years of related lending experience
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial information and identify risk
- Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, strong business writing, and an entrepreneurial mindset
- High integrity, detail‑oriented, and ability to evaluate and mitigate risk
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with Excel Pivot Table knowledge a plus
- Previous credit union experience is a plus
Role Description and Essential Duties
- Review and analyze financial statements, prepare loan presentations, and assist commercial lenders with loan committee presentations.
- Perform financial statement spreading and analysis on new and existing loan relationships.
- Evaluate creditworthiness of borrowers and guarantors by assessing cash flow and debt serviceability.
- Conduct market analysis for each loan presentation based on the borrower’s industry.
- Calculate financial ratios from financial statements and data provided.
- Provide recommendations on loan structures, payment plans, and interest rates to commercial lenders.
- Assist in writing clear and concise loan presentations that adhere to prudent underwriting standards.
- Ensure compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Communicate with borrowers, guarantors, controllers, and accountants to gather additional information and interpret financial statements.
- Provide guidance and answer questions related to credit union services, supporting cross‑selling efforts and problem resolution.
- Maintain working relationships with credit union personnel, lending team, and management.
- Comply with BSA rules, CIP, and attend required annual BSA and compliance training.
- Assist with business loan portfolio oversight, including tickler reports, monthly and quarterly reporting, and chairing business services policy.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
