Job summary

Sunstar Insurance Group is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the Alabama Small Business Unit, driving day-to-day operations and aligning with national SBU initiatives. You will mentor staff, manage key carrier relationships, and optimize client servicing for a growing book of small business accounts.

The role requires a Property & Casualty license, seven years of commercial insurance experience, and a Bachelor's degree or higher. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven years of commercial insurance experience required.
• Experience servicing and managing commercial small business accounts required.
• Active Property & Casualty license required.
• Experience with Applied EPIC agency management system strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; industry designations encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the day-to-day operation of the Alabama Small Business Unit (SBU).
• Coordinate the implementation of national and regional SBU initiatives, processes, and best practices within Alabama.
• Coach and mentor team members on workflows, service standards, carrier relationships, and operational best practices.
• Facilitate regular statewide team meetings and ongoing communication.
• Serve as a liaison between Alabama operations and national SBU leadership.
• Review performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, client experience, carrier engagement, and overall team performance.
• Manage marketing and servicing activities for an assigned book of SBU clients.
