Job summary

Matheny Motors in Zanesville, Ohio seeks an experienced Commercial Service Technician to diagnose and repair various truck systems using electronic tools and laptops. You will work with skilled mechanics, maintain inspection and test procedures, and ensure repairs meet OEM standards while staying within safety guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with at least one year of related experience or formal training. CDL is preferred, and a professional toolset is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; a technical certificate is acceptable.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training in diesel or truck repair.
• Certifications for Freightliner/Hino/Cummins/Detroit/Isuzu and other OEMs are a plus.

About this position

Position Summary:

Are you passionate about diagnosing and repairing various truck systems and working with other talented mechanics? We are looking for experienced Diesel technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using electronic diagnostic tools and laptop computers.
• Be proficient with any hand tools needed to diagnose trucks.
• Ensures repairs are completed in accordance with the supervisor’s instructions and are done in an accurate manner.
• Maintains correct time clock punches and work order processes.
• Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
• Stay up to date on all assigned OEM training.
• Tag parts as required and follow allwarranty procedures setby each OEM.
• Complete repairs by OEM SRT standards.
• CDL certified drivers test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure they are still in proper working order.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Keep work area clean and free of debris.
• Keep customer vehicles clean during the repair process and after the completion of repairs.
• Perform road calls as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• One-year certificate from a fully accredited college or technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
• Minimum of one year ofrelated experience and/or training.
• Basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office, experience with CDK a plus.
• Certifications in Freightliner, Hino, Cummins, Detroit, Isuzu and other manufacturers.
• A professional set of tools is required.
• Be able to do physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, squatting, standing and lifting heavy objects.
• CDL preferred.
