Job summary

Hino of Columbia is seeking experienced commercial service technicians to diagnose and repair truck systems at our Columbia, SC location. You will use electronic diagnostic tools and laptops, and work with a professional set of tools to meet OEM standards and safety requirements.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus a related certificate or equivalent experience. CDL is preferred, and a comprehensive benefits package with paid training is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school, or equivalent experience, acceptable.
• Minimum of one year of related experience and/or training.
• Basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office; CDK a plus.
• Certifications in Hino, Cummins, Detroit, Isuzu and other manufacturers.
• Professional set of tools required.
• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand and lift heavy objects.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair truck systems using electronic diagnostic tools and laptops.
• Use hand tools to diagnose and repair trucks.
• Complete repairs per supervisor instructions and OEM standards.
• Maintain accurate time clock punches and work orders; follow attendance policy.
• Stay up to date on OEM training and certifications.
• Inspect and test equipment; diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.

Position Summary:

Are you passionate about diagnosing and repairing various truck systems and working with other talented mechanics? We are looking for experienced commercial service technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using electronic diagnostic tools and laptop computers.
• Be proficient with any hand tools needed to diagnose trucks.
• Ensures repairs are completed in accordance with the supervisor’s instructions and are done in an accurate manner.
• Maintains correct time clock punches and work order processes.
• Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
• Stay up to date on all assigned OEM training.
• Tag parts as required and follow allwarranty procedures setby each OEM.
• Complete repairs by OEM SRT standards.
• CDL certified drivers test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure they are still in proper working order.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Keep work area clean and free of debris.
• Keep customer vehicles clean during the repair process and after the completion of repairs.
• Perform road calls as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• One-year certificate from a fully accredited college or technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
• Minimum of one year ofrelated experience and/or training.
• Basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office, experience with CDK a plus.
• Certifications in Hino, Cummins, Detroit, Isuzu and other manufacturers.
• A professional set of tools is required.
• Be able to do physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, squatting, standing and lifting heavy objects.
• CDL preferred.
