Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Security Systems Technician/Programmer in North Dakota (Fargo or Bismarck). You will install, configure, and program commercial security systems including CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection, with hands-on field work from wiring to software programming.

The role requires independent work in the field, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

Hands-on installation, configuration, and programming of commercial security systems.
Strong CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection knowledge.
Able to independently install, program, troubleshoot, and commission systems.
Experience with low-voltage wiring, controllers, relays, and electronic devices.
Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, IP addressing, PoE, and switches.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, program, and troubleshoot video surveillance, access control, and intrusion systems.
Program IP cameras, NVRs, and video management software.
Configure card readers, door controllers, and electronic locks.
Troubleshoot intrusion panels, sensors, and security devices.
Perform startup, testing, commissioning, and customer turnover.
Diagnose hardware, software, wiring, and networking issues.
Integrate security with other building tech and third‑party gear.
Read wiring diagrams and construction drawings.
Coordinate with customers, contractors, and project teams.
Provide ongoing service, maintenance, upgrades, and support.
