Position Function

The Commercial Sales Manager – Self Storage Specialist will be selling ODC self-storage products and installation services nationally to key customers (general contractors, developers, and end users). This position will focus primarily on selling self-storage interior systems while identifying opportunities to package all ODC products. The Commercial Sales Manager will work closely with the pre-construction, project management, and field installation management teams to help deliver a full end-to-end solution for our customers.

The Commercial Sales Manager – Self Storage Specialist will be selling ODC self-storage products and installation services nationally to key customers (general contractors, developers, and end users). This position will focus primarily on selling self-storage interior systems while identifying opportunities to package all ODC products. The Commercial Sales Manager will work closely with the pre-construction, project management, and field installation management teams to help deliver a full end-to-end solution for our customers.

Reports Into

Vertical Specialist will report to VP Sales – Commercial Solutions

Location

This role will be based out of your home, but you must live in TX; there are no relocation dollars available.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility is to grow self-storage sales by identifying, prospecting, and negotiating self-storage new construction projects.
  • Establishing and maintaining business relations with developers/investors, general contractors, and end users.
  • Represent ODC in the self-storage industry by participating in trade shows and conferences.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product management to drive brand awareness, lead generation, and product positioning.
  • Analyze market trends and provide insights to position ODC for future growth in the self-storage industry.
  • Maintain effective communication across all sales channels, marketing, and management.
  • Analyze competitor activities related to product, pricing, promotions, and new offerings.
  • Assess market needs related to product, solutions, architectural trends, and marketing strategies.
  • Manage and sell current and new products to vertical markets, architects, design-build firms, and specifiers.
  • Participate in developing strategies and customized programs for specific vertical markets.
  • Develop strategies to acquire new accounts and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Demonstrate effective negotiation, problem-solving, and high-performance results.
  • Provide accurate monthly forecasts and reports.
Other Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Channel Sales, National Accounts, and Engineering teams.
  • Travel up to 50%, including overnight stays.
Qualifications
Skills/Experience Requirements
  • 7-10 years experience selling engineered products; self-storage solutions sales preferred.
  • Proven sales management experience with national growth success.
  • Professional, ethical, and respectful demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Confident, independent, and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, analytical, and selling skills.
  • Understanding of construction industry, plans, specifications, pricing, and P&L.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry tools.
  • Ability to handle multiple cultures, solve problems, and think strategically.
  • Experience in consultative sales and distribution management.
Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field, plus 3+ years in national sales within construction or building products. Self-storage sales experience is a plus.

Revenue Recognition / Incentive

Sales pooled across brands with overall revenue and margin targets.
